Wisdom in a word

Being in a leadership position (including being a parent) has a way of exposing my weaknesses to myself and all those around me. Every now and then, when life calls for it, I go through my self-inventory and see what have too much of and where I'm short. This last time around I have found that I want to be better in two main areas
  • Wisdom
  • Discipline
So I've been thinking about how I can get more wisdom. Or how anyone gets more wisdom. There are people like Scott who, somehow, just have good commons sense. And there are people like this kid in my Italian class that seem to just not get it. (He must be CNDD). I think I fall somewhere in the middle. But I want to be more on the Scott side of the spectrum. Is wisdom something earned or is it something that you're born with? As I've been reading the scriptures I have come to the conclusion that Wisdom is Obedience. So that is going to be running through my head whenever I want to speed or slack off in my church callings.

As far as discipline goes, the anwer is easy: just do it. I guess you can go deeper on that one and look for a source of motivation, but really it comes down to just getting out of bed, just making the phone call, just doing the assignment and so on.
